Craigslist Shopping - Money Saving Tips by Cristina Briboneria

Have you ever gone shopping on Craigslist? I have. If you have the time to shop, I would definitely look into shopping on Craigslist. In the past few weeks, I have noticed that there are several brand new and sealed items on Craigslist that you can buy for a bargain. You can e-mail buyers, negotiate your prices, and get the best deal for what you're looking for.

For example, I had my Xbox 360 stolen a few months ago and I wanted a replacement. I went on Craigslist and found one that was being offered for $120. The selling had never used it--it was sealed and brand new. I emailed with all my questions and decided to buy it. I agreed to buy it for $120.

We scheduled a time for me to pick it up, however, when I met her, I ended up talking her down and she sold it to me for $100. Great deal!! I saved over 50% if I had would have bought it from the store.

The next item that I purchased was a brand new, in-box, sealed iPod shuffle. Those typically cost about $50 if you bought it from the store, not including tax.

He was offering it for $40, but again, I negotiated with the buy, and I bought it for $30.

Craigslist is an awesome way to purchase items that you're looking for at discount or even used. Make sure you have cash available as most people only take cash and also figure out if what you’re looking for is in your budget.

It’s important that you have someone there to help you determine if what you want is something you should purchase at the store or on Craigslist so that you know you’ve made the right financial decisions.
